How to extend the life of your favorite clothes

Good washing habits, storage and early repairs can extend garment life by years and prevent avoidable replacements.

Wash less and wash correctly

Every wash cycle wears fabric fibers, color and elastane. Many garments benefit from airing between wears and washing at lower temperatures.

Separate dark, light, delicate and heavy items. A careful wash routine prevents much of the damage that later becomes a repair job.

Store garments with their shape in mind

Coats and jackets need proper hangers. Knitwear is often better folded. Garments stored while damp or compressed can lose shape, develop odor or create stress points.

Good storage is especially important for wool, leather and formal garments that are worn seasonally.

Fast preliminary quote

What to send so we can estimate the price and timing faster

A short message and a few details are enough:

  1. 1 Photos or a short video: the whole item and a close-up of the problem area.
  2. 2 Item type, material (if known) and quantity.
  3. 3 What happened or what you want changed; the desired result and relevant measurements.
  4. 4 Your location; fitting or parcel delivery; preferred deadline and urgency.

The preliminary estimate is free. We confirm the final price after inspecting the item.

Repair early

A small seam opening, early denim wear or a loose lining is easier to repair before it becomes a large tear. Early reinforcement is usually stronger and more discreet.

If you are unsure, send a photo. It is better to ask while the fabric still has strength.

Buy with repair in mind

Look for strong zippers, useful seam allowance and fabric that can handle alteration. A garment that can be repaired is usually a better long-term purchase.

Frequently asked questions

How often should clothes be washed?

Less often than many people think. Wash when the garment is actually dirty, and air it between wears when possible.

When should I repair instead of replacing?

When the damage is local and the garment is otherwise in good condition, repair is usually worth considering.

Need personal advice?

Every garment has its own story. Send us photos and we will explain what is realistic.
